However, possibly distressing news about Dragon's Crown has surfaced. An enterprising reader of Podcast Beyond, Matt Donnelley, reached out to IGN today to let us know that Amazon.com has cancelled his pre-order of the game. "We're writing to let you know the items listed below will not be released by the supplier on the expected date," Amazon notes in the e-mail Mr. Donnelley forwarded to IGN. "As a result, we cancelled them from your order and your credit card wasn't charged."
Amazon's words indicate that the game has simply been delayed. However, Mr. Donnelley goes on to tell us that the game isn't listed anymore at all on Amazon.com, nor is it listed at the current time on GameStop.com. Searching for Dragon's Crown on Amazonredirects you to Grand Knights History, while searching for the game on on GameStop brings up nothing at all. However, theofficial site for Dragon's Crown still shows that the game is set for release on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in the Spring of 2012.
Though the game is being developed by Vanillaware, it's being published by UTV Ignition. We've reached out to UTV Ignition's PR firm for confirmation or clarification, and will update the story when we hear more.
